Beer Review #80

Humble Sea Brewing Co. Hop Fusion 2.0 Foggy DIPA

Canned. ABV 8.6%

Appearance: Hazy, Orange Juice

Aroma: Dank, Slight Orange Zest

Palate: Orange Peel, Grassy

Finish: Dank, Slight Dryness (from Hops)

Experience: This was a good night of beer drinking. I was enjoying back to back great beers. Humble Sea never disappoints. This beer was in your face, dry and Dank with a well balance juice profile. Score: 5/5!

Beer Review #78

Full Circle Brewing Co. JUICY New England IPA

Canned. ABV 6.6%

Appearance: Hazy, Mango Juice with half a finger of soapy head

Aroma: Zest, Mango, Tangerines, Oranges

Palate: Heavy orange peel, Tropical juices

Finish: Chalky, Zest and Alcohol burn

Experience: This beer was a revisit for me. I have had it in the past and it was a descent beer but I remembered something about it that didn’t overly impress me. Once I had it it was the finish. It left a lingering chalky (like Flintstone vitamins) and a alcohol burn even though it’s a low ABV beer for a New England IPA. It’s full of flavor but the finish is where it takes the excitement away for me. Score: 4/5.

Beer Review #77

House of Pendragon The Good Batch Imperial Red IPA

Canned. ABV 8%

Appearance: Crystal clear, Deep red with a finger width soapy head

Aroma: Sweet (Malt)

Palate: Hoppy, Little Sweetness

Finish: Slightly dry from hops

Experience: This was a special release for May the fourth be with you…Star Wars day. I was looking forward this release because I love Star Wars and I was interested in this style of beer. Lately I have been finding more and more red IPAs but I have never had a imperial red IPA. The color on this beer was fantastic and it was very well balanced beer. The maltiness did not over power the beer and the hops were able to come through on your palate. Really enjoyed this beer! Score: 4.5/5.

Beer Review #76

Pizza Port Brewing Co. & El Segundo Brewing Company Rippin’ Bear IPA

Canned. Date canned on 4/29/21. ABV 7.2%

Appearance: Clear, Golden, Finger and a half width of soapy head

Aroma: Citrus, Slight Dank

Palate: Orange Peel, Floral, Pine

Finish: Hoppy, Dry

Experience: These two breweries did it! A good west coast IPA is hard for me to find or at least check off all the boxes for me. The smell, the mouthfeel and the finish was on point. In your face, chewing, hoppy, piney. Yes, yes, yes! Score: 5/5!
