BARE Bottle Brewing Co. Amarillo Dust New England IPA
Canned. ABV 6.8%
Appearance: Hazy, Orange Juice, Half a finger of soapy head
Aroma: Oranges, Stone Fruits, Guava, Slight Dank
Palate: Orange Zest
Finish: Juice, Slight Dryness (from Hops)
Experience: I really enjoy BARE Bottle but it’s harder to find in town so when I get a chance to find it I get excited. Last BARE Bottle I got was a disappointed only because something must have happened to the beer I got because it was flat. This time around it was not a disappointed and so happy I was able to pick up a few different beers from them. I really enjoy each can has how the beer was made, very unique. Score: 4.75/5.
Appearance: Hazy, Mango Juice with half a finger of soapy head
Aroma: Zest, Mango, Tangerines, Oranges
Palate: Heavy orange peel, Tropical juices
Finish: Chalky, Zest and Alcohol burn
Experience: This beer was a revisit for me. I have had it in the past and it was a descent beer but I remembered something about it that didn’t overly impress me. Once I had it it was the finish. It left a lingering chalky (like Flintstone vitamins) and a alcohol burn even though it’s a low ABV beer for a New England IPA. It’s full of flavor but the finish is where it takes the excitement away for me. Score: 4/5.
Experience: At first, I was a little nervous about trying this one because I haven’t had a lot of good beers from Mother Earth but this on shocked me on how tropical and hoppy this beer was. It was a great balance. Score: 4.25/5.
Revision Brewing Company Social Fermentation NE-Style Hazy IPA
Canned. Date Not Recorded. ABV 6.5%
Appearance: Hazy, Pineapple Juice, Finger and half-width frothy head
Aroma: Pineapple, Mango, Fruit Bowl, Candy
Palate: Tropical, Slight Bitter
Finish: Carbonated, Spritzy, Slight Zest
Experience: I have had a lot of beers from Revision and they are consistent with their beers. This is a good easy drinking hazy IPA with little bitter, full of flavor and easy, easy, crushable beer. I will have to admit at times I feel like I have drank this beer before from Revision, meaning they are consistent and very similar with each new release. Score: 4.25/5.
Bottled. Released 7/22/17 (Reviewed 7/24/17). ABV 6.8%
Color: Hazy, Tangerine Juice, Half Finger Width Head
Smell: Pineapple, Mango, Tropical Fruits
Taste: Grapefruit, Pineapple, Juice, Hops
Aftermath: Mango Pineapple Juice
Experience: I am loving the special releases the House of Pendragon (HOP) is putting out. The tap room is only 3 minutes from my house! So that makes it even better. They have been doing such a great job with these hazy New England style IPAs. Makes me dig this style of IPA a lot. Compared to their last release this one has no alcohol taste at the end. Like I have said before I am new to the hazy style IPAs so I am all about them and they are a great introduction to people who may not like IPAs. The only criticism about this beer is I wish there were a little more hop profile to it. But other than that great beer! Going to try and pick up another bottle or two for myself and brother in-law. Grade 4.8/5.
